The magician shows a simple wooden box that was bought in an antique shop a few years ago. The magician explains that when he came home and opened the box, he noticed a faded picture of Harry Houdini, "The King of Cards". This picture was not in the box when he bought it for the first time. From time to time, the magician noticed that the box would produce strange noises at night, a "banging" sound as if the spirit of Harry Houdini would look for it.
The magician demonstrates these strange phenomena under toughest test conditions:
It opens the lid and removes a card game and a normal Sharpie Pen (or a pen of your choice).
A spectator is invited to select each card from the deck and sign your face. The card is then placed in the deck by the viewer at any time. This is a 100% free choice.
The viewer then mixes the cards and is asked to put them in the box one after the other. Suddenly The Lid of the Slam Slams Shut, as if he would tell the viewer that he should stop acting. The magician asks the viewer to turn the card he holds in his hand ... it is the signed card!
