Der Zauberer erzählt eine Geschichte, in der er mit drei Spielkarten überfallen wird:
Eine der Karten hat einen blauen Punkt und die anderen beiden Karten haben beide einen roten Punkt.
Das Spiel? Behalte die blaue Karte im Auge. Richtig geraten, du gewinnst! Wer falsch rät, verliert. Einfach, oder?
Aber jedes Mal, wenn er sich sicher ist, wo der blaue Punkt ist, liegt er falsch.
Oberste Karte? Falsch!
Untere Karte? Immer noch falsch!
Mittlere Karte? Wieder Falsch!
Er beschuldigt den Stricher, die blaue Karte zu verstecken. Wieder falsch!
Verzweifelt, weil sich seine Verluste häufen, geht er eine letzte Wette ein. Der Stricher dreht zwei Karten um: eine rote und eine blaue, und fordert den Magier auf, die Farbe der dritten Karte zu erraten.
Rot, richtig? Falsch!
Dann MUSS es blau sein? Falsch!
Die dritte Karte wird aufgedeckt - und niemand sieht, was kommt!
