Sumi Playing Cards - Kitsune is the second collaboration of Card Experiment with Tokmr Graphics, after our very successful Sumi Playing CARDS campaign. In Kitsune, we continue to translate and transform the traditional Japanese tattoo art form Wabori into the playing card style, whereby we maintain and still maintain many of the interesting and attractive properties that we had in Sumi Playing Cards.
Kitsune's focus is on the fox spirit, which plays an important role in the Japanese folklore. We have searched many different sources of folk tales, stories and myths about fox spirits and selected a few acquaintances as sources of inspiration for the characters in the courtyard cards.
Kistune continues to serve as a homage to Wabori and represents the visual nuances and the quality that is the trademark of traditional Japanese tattoo. Modern playing card aesthetics.
