Du sagst, wenn du live und aus der Nähe dabei wärst, würdest du es sicher sehen? Nun, wir werden das Experiment nachstellen. Du ziehst 3 Karten aus einem veganen Lederetui und zeigst auf jeder Karte eine andere Anzahl von Basketbällen. Du zeigst jede Karte fairerweise auf Vorder- und Rückseite und bittest sie, die Gesamtzahl der Basketbälle zu erraten? Dann sagst du: "Aber hast du den Gorilla übersehen? Sie schauen verwirrt. Dann drehst du die Karten um und zeigst, dass auf den 3 Karten ein riesiger Gorilla prangt. Wie zum Teufel konntest du das übersehen?
Ein absolutes Chaos bricht aus. Lachanfälle, ungläubiges Staunen, Geplauder darüber, wie sie das nur übersehen konnten. Dann wiederholt sich die Schleife. Vorsicht - diese Reaktion wird sich fortsetzen, bis du gehst.
Sobald der Gorilla aufgetaucht ist, kannst du die Karten auf Vorder- und Rückseite zeigen. Du kannst auch ein paar davon aushändigen, um sie zu untersuchen, aber niemand will das, weil sein Gehirn gerade geschmolzen ist und er einen Schlussstrich ziehen muss - darüber zu reden hilft.
Die Karten wurden vom König der Kartenbeschriftung und des Designs, Phill Smith, entworfen, der die Methode sehr clever und hinterhältig gestaltet hat.
