Here are a few things that you can EASILY predict using \u003cb\u003eAnything\u003c\/b\u003e: \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe name of someone you have never met \u003cbr\u003eA birthday of a stranger \u003cbr\u003ePocket change \u003cbr\u003eFreely thought-of lottery numbers \u003cbr\u003eEVEN actions -- predict what item someone will point to in a room, for example \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe routine is worded in a way to lure your spectators in -- Ben talks about this in the tutorial. This routine really is a massive garden path for your spectators to walk up -- they don't realize they have been had until the end! Don't worry, this is not psychological forcing that could go wrong, \u003cb\u003eAnything\u003c\/b\u003e is 100% accurate, 100% of the time. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe prediction is written in bright red ink, can be sealed in an envelope or in full view the whole time. Ben even includes his Anything Book Test routine. A full routine perfect for a promotional video, stage routine or even in close-up. These are all effects I have developed to solve a problem I have at one point thought about or had! The idea was to provide a multi-trick release from which everyone would benefit for the same price as a good single-trick release. This project fit the bill perfectly, as these gimmicks can complement each other and provide you with some very clean and effective routines. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSo, what is \u003cb\u003eGimmick It Yourself\u003c\/b\u003e exactly? \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e5 DIY gimmicks that are all cheap to make, effective, reliable, and easy to use. Trust me, these gimmicks have saved me a couple of times over the many years of performing. For example, Enveload was developed as an easy way to load sealed envelopes with borrowed items or signed cards, (basically anything that will fit in the envelope!) because I left my JOL wallet at home while working on a cruise ship for weeks. SOS was a Ring Flight I have used that is completely secure -- in fact, it is secured on a Sharpie lid with Duct Tape! That's what SOS stands for, Secured on Sharpie.\nWell I could bore you more but below are all the gimmick descriptions and what they do. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eOff Balance\u003c\/b\u003e - A simple, easy-to-use gimmick that provides an extra element of 'magic along the way' whilst you perform. You can use this gimmick to impossibly suspend pens, borrowed glasses or sunglasses, or even a fork, on your extended forefinger. So simple and easy to use, and all objects that can be suspended can be borrowed and examined immediately afterwards. The perfect trick when you are out for a drink with your friends this summer. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eSOS\u003c\/b\u003e - Ring Flight is a classic effect, yet many people worry about using it in case something goes wrong. This is a great alternative where you can be sure that the spectator's ring is safe as the ring ends up secured to a clip of a Sharpie by Duct Tape! That's right! Borrow a ring, completely vanish it (no palming -- you can show your hands completely empty), turn around to show that a Sharpie is poking out of your back pocket. When you remove it, the spectator's ring is impossibly secured to the clip of the Sharpie lid with Duct Tape! \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eStash\u003c\/b\u003e - This is a simple hold out for playing cards (or any other card for that matter). It is very simple to use; any card can load straight into this gimmick, without fuss, to be held out whilst your spectator shuffles the cards. Also use it to hold out gimmicked cards or small stacks of cards. For example, you can hold out Aces whilst your spectator shuffles or the cards needed for Chicago Opener. I originally developed this to be used in conjunction with Daniel Madison's Advocate. This can help give you the clean hands you desire before producing the thought-of card. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eShadow Envelope\u003c\/b\u003e - This is a prediction envelope, pure and simple. A sealed envelope is held up to a light -- it is clear that a single card or piece of paper of some sort is inside the envelope. A choice is made, whether a word is thought of or a card freely selected and signed, it matters not. When the envelope is opened, the contents are removed and shown to be the spectator's signed card, or a business card with the word the spectator thought of written on it is removed. Once the item is removed, the envelope is of course shown completely empty. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eEnveload\u003c\/b\u003e - This is a gimmick you can make in a minute or two, for about 10p, that can act as an alternative to the very expensive wallets on the market that have an envelope load function. You can use it to load sealed envelopes with: signed cards, rings, necklaces, predictions, bank cards, etc. Basically anything that can fit in an envelope you can load, in an instant, all without the need for a wallet that costs a fortune. The perfect gimmick to get you out of a sticky situation. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eROUTINES TAUGHT\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn addition to all the gimmicks, I teach several routines that are all easy and commercial. This goes straight into my everyday carry, as it doesn't take up any space and is a perfect trick to do in a casual situation. \u003cbr\u003e\"Don't really see myself using SOS, as I believe Ring Flight and Interlace have a better impact and are easier to perform, however both of them are quite expensive and this is a great alternative for someone who isn't willing to spend that money. \u003cbr\u003e\"Stash: Pretty cool concept that sparked a few ideas in my head, although I believe you need to have a certain style to pull this off, as I don't see myself using it while wearing a suit. \u003cbr\u003e\"Shadow Envelope: Hooohoho this was cheeky, and I love it. So many possibilities. \u003cbr\u003e\"Enveload: Similar to SOS, I think this is a great alternative for someone who doesn't want to pay big buck for a fancy wallet. You don't need to do this, but the option is there, which makes for a great way to grow your social media following. You can perform this effect, get a really pure mind reading video of the performance, and then post it immediately tagging and linking with the spectators, thus drawing them into your social media circles in a fun and simple way. During the tutorial, I talk about cool scripting and pre-show that you can employ for these videos to make them look even more impossible. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is what your participant will say and swear to on the video: \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e- That they have written or drawn something of their own free choice which wasn't seen by anyone (unless they chose to show someone). And that they, themselves, placed it in their own pocket. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e- You have not set anything up beforehand. For example, you never instructed them to draw anything limiting or suggested anything to sway their decision -- they aren't a stooge in any way, shape or form. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e- You have not done anything sneaky, and there is no way you can know what they just wrote or drew. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eYou can then go on to reveal the exact piece of information they wrote down or drew in a clean manner, without them removing the piece of paper from their pocket. They make decisions themselves to whittle a deck down to one playing card out of 52, it just happens to be the playing card you have been holding in your hand the whole time. This is my story-based equivoque that, when combined with the techniques taught here, not only makes perfect sense for a spectator, but it is easy to follow and easy to remember so your performance is a breeze. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cb\u003eBillet Look\u003c\/b\u003e - This is a full routine that begins with your spectator writing down something secretly. This is placed folded up into a glass. You remove some blank business cards from your pocket to write down your thoughts. You write something on the back of a business card and place it down, you unfold the card they wrote on that has been in full view the whole time and see that they wrote 'Mercedes', you turn over your business card and it also says, 'Mercedes'. The routine teaches you a full card 'look' that you can have as much time as you want to see their information. This is not a fast peek or a peek where you have to worry about lighting, and it certainly isn't a peek that uses a special pen or pad, heck it's not even a peek, it is a full-blown look at the information, right in front of the spectator, in a completely innocent way. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cb\u003eForcing\u003c\/b\u003e - This is an exploration into using the switch techniques as a force. This is a perfect addition to a mental epic routine as you can use this force for the final piece of information, but their choice is a free choice, unlike most forces that mean they must choose a certain card or number. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cb\u003e50\/50\u003c\/b\u003e - This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite applications for these switches. I will teach you my 100% foolproof method of giving your spectator a 50\/50 choice between two things and ALWAYS getting the outcome you desire. A simple effect for this would be if you place £50 on the table and if they choose between two business cards, one says WINNER the other says LOSER. If they choose the winner card, they win the £50. Guess what? They NEVER choose the WINNER card! (More ideas for this are discussed on the project). \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cb\u003eParlour Box\u003c\/b\u003e - Parlour magicians and stage mentalists have been using switching boxes to perform mind reading and prediction routines since, well I don't know for sure but for a LONG time! With Parlour Box I teach you my way of performing a Parlour routine where your spectators write items on a business card, and these are placed into a CLEAR un-gimmicked box. The spectator chooses a folded card from the box, and it is always what you want them to choose. The sachet is completely sealed and can be inspected before your spectator tears it open themselves to find inside the chosen card. Of course the piece they have been holding the whole time matches perfectly, not almost, not very closely, but EXACTLY.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eYour spectators will sell this effect for you as their model of reality collapses and they realize the once squishy sauce sachet is now rigid!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIf you want you can then go on to restore the torn piece from the playing card.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003ci\u003e\"Love it!
